City Forum in Wrocław for Archicom
Personalized LED luminaires for a business center

C
ity
forum in Wrocław, built by the developer Archicom, is a modern office building full of advanced technologies.
AV equipment, PTZ cameras and matrix ceiling microphones from ClearOne, touch panels, wireless transmissions
using Crestron Airmedia, Apple Airplay and standard HDMI technology. The role of a traditional telephone was
taken over by a Crestron Mercury speakerphone, which serves as a SIP phone and a Microsoft Teams terminal. This
is only part of what is available in this modern office building, but it would all be for nothing without
advanced lighting.
Because who likes to operate in the dark?

A s part of this implementation, Globus Lighting designed and manufactured GL-LARBUS linear luminaires. Appropriate light fluxes and types of diffusers (frozen or raster) were selected according to the client's needs. The length and color of the aluminum housing have also been adjusted. As a result, we delivered an elegant, simple lighting fixture that fits the decor of a modern office building. In addition, all luminaires are equipped with DALI control and integrated with the building management system (BMS).

T he DALI system is a natural successor to the 1-10V system, and it fits perfectly into a modern building such as City Forum. DALI allows you to control 64 devices or 16 groups of LED lamps in one line. However, the control does not have to act only on individual luminaires. The luminaires can be grouped and controlled, as well as sending a signal to all the lamps in the system and managing the entire network in one go. An installation can contain more than 64 devices. This is possible thanks to dedicated repeaters and control gates, which allows you to expand the entire system.

I mportantly, in the DALI system, information transfer is bidirectional - the so-called half duplex system, where communication is bipolar, but can only take place in one direction at the same time. Two-way exchange of information enables a "conversation" between the controlled device and the controller, which enables the creation of a fully automated lighting system which, in combination with motion and twilight sensors, will adjust the amount of light emitted by the lamps or inform about the failure of specific elements in the system.
